The GT (Green Tennis) project co-funded by the Erasmus + Sport, coordinated by tennis club Favorit (Bulgaria) in partnership with tennis arena Dornbirn (Austria) and Mak Tennis Pro (Republic of North Macedonia) officially started in Dec. 2022. The kick-off project meeting was he;d on the 28th of Dec. 2022 hosted by tennis club Favorit in the city of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. In the meetings took part representatives from each organisation and were discussed and the project timetable, the administrative and financial procedures and a Steering Committee (SC) was elected.

The GT project general objective is to support the environment and climate actions which are key EU priorities now and in the future through elaborating, piloting, and disseminating of 1) interactive digital map of local good green practices in tennis in the project participating countries; 2) toolkit (with check list) for grassroots tennis clubs how to become green sports clubs; 3) Communication campaign and sports event; 4) Responsibility Recommendation guidelines for grassroots tennis clubs including concrete steps how to leverage the influence of tennis to address environment sustainability at local community level
